So, last week, I got deployed to California for the Butte & Valley fires. This past Sunday, my self and a co-worker brought one of our command vehicles out to the base camp in Lake County to act as a temporary Field Office for our people working in the field. We also have other vehicles out at sites providing phone and internet connectivity to those workers so those affected by these fires can register for federal assistance (we also co-locate with state partners to create a one-stop shop for everyone). I’ve been out doing some IT stuff at our other vehicles, and have gotten to see some of the destruction. Needless to say, it’s bad.
Things are really bad out here. I personally helped a lady who was so frazzled I had to walk her to around to the people she needed to see.
